Lafayette police were recently called for a loud party complaint and when they arrived instead of shutting the party down, an officer joined in on the fun.
The Police Association of Lafayette #905 took to social media on Saturday to explain what happened.
According to the post, when officers arrived at the location of the party they heard loud music and made contact with those inside and requested that the music be turned down, which they say the group respectfully complied.
A short while later, police say they learned that the music was the result of a birthday party being celebrated for 80-year-old Mrs. Verdie Domingue of Lafayette.
When Mrs. Verdie learned why the music had been turned down she came out and explained that it was her birthday and then asked to take a picture with the officers.
“Definitely can’t say no to a lady on her birthday. We can only hope at 80 we are all still having parties that the police get called to,” the association said.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Verdie, And many More!
