LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Lafayette police are investigating a deadly accident on Ambassador Caffery Parkway.

Police say 39-year-old Tanoka Janezich was killed in the Sunday evening crash. A passenger, reportedly one of Janezich’s children, was also injured.  Authorities say her vehicle was struck head-on by another car driven by a 48-year-old man. 

Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the second car is charged with OWI and vehicular homicide.

The suspect remains hospitalized at of this morning, Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Cpl. Bridget Dugas said. His name has not been released at this time.
