LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian this morning in Lafayette, officials said.

A news release stated that in the early morning hours Lafayette PD responded to an unresponsive male who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle in the roadway in the 200 block of Guidry St.

Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Ronald Lee Chaisson Jr. of Lafayette.

Lafayette Police are now investigating to death as a hit and run.
