LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Police are currently investigating two separate shootings that left two men injured Saturday morning in Lafayette.
The first shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. at a park in the 200 block of Couret Drive.
Public information officer Karl Ratcliff said a “male suspect reportedly approached and shot the victim while he was in the park with a female companion.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. Police do not know the identity of the suspect.
The second shooting happened just after 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of E. Vermilion St.
Ratcliff said, “Reports indicate a black male suspect shot the victim in the roadway then fled in a vehicle.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both shootings are under investigation.
