Lafayette Police respond with zero tolerance to texting & driving

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)— Police will be conducting saturation patrol for their ‘No texting and driving campaign”, according to officials.

Corporal Bridgette Dugas with Lafayette Police said the ‘No texting and driving campaign” will be conducted beginning September 12 and will continue throughout the entire month.


Officers working the detail will respond with zero tolerance to drivers found to be texting while driving, according to a news release.

Dugas said the campaign’s mission is to raise awareness of distracted driving within the city of Lafayette.
