UPDATE, 4/5/21: Lafayette Police have identified the victim in Sunday night’s Evangeline Thruway crash, and the crash is no longer being categorized as a hit-and-run.
According to Sr. Cpl. Bridgette Dugas, the pedestrian has been identified as Troy Dufour, 44. Dufour was struck by a Honda Accord after he stepped into the roadway for unknown reasons.
