Lafayette Regional Airport is on its way to another record-breaking year.

The first three quarters of 2015 have yielded 13,342 more passengers at Lafayette Regional Airport than during the same time frame in 2014. The airport saw another record-breaking August in 2015 with 41,944 passengers. Counts for September were very high as well with 40,900 passengers, making September 2015 the third-best September on record for the Lafayette Regional Airport.

“For the first time ever, over half a million passengers used the Lafayette Regional Airport last year” says Lafayette Airport Commission Chairman Matt Cruse. “It appears we are on pace to break that record again this year.”

Load factors, the number of passengers flying on an airline compared to the number of seats available, continued to be high in September for all carriers. Leading the way was Delta Connection/Atlanta with 86 percent of seats filled.  American Eagle/Dallas followed with 79 percent of seats filled. Load factors for United/Houston/Denver were unavailable.

Lafayette Regional Airport offers multiple daily nonstop flights to Atlanta, Dallas and Houston.
