The owner of Greenwood Shoes was arrested today for setting his own store on fire.
David Leblanc is charged arson. Lafayette fire investigators tell KLFY News 10 that the found evidence that Leblanc intentionally set his downtown store on fire in February.

An initial investigation revealed that the fire started in the stock room area of the shoe store and was extinguished with 30 minutes.
An apartment home above the store was not occupied at the time of the fire, however it sustained light smoke damage.
Greenwood Shoes has been a staple in the Lafayette community since 1954 with several locations throughout Acadiana over the past 62 years. Leblanc had just told KLFY News 10 that he was planning to reopen the store in late May or early June.
