LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Brent Johnson was arrested in connection to a deadly Sept. 6 shooting in the 300 block of Lafayette Street, police said.

He was located and arrested in Auburn, Washington, through collaborative efforts between the United States Marshals Service of Tacoma Washington, United States Marshals Service Violet Offender Task Force Louisiana and the Lafayette Police Department Special Investigations Unit.

Johnson is charged with shooting  and killing 39-year-old Jason Carbins.

He will be booked in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the active warrant for second degree murder after extradition.
