What started out as a few signs with this logo to show support for Lafayette quickly became a symbol of the communities resilience in the wake of tragedy.
“The day following the tragedy one of our staff members wives designed the logo that now you see all over town” explains Todd Landry, owner of Pixus Digital Printing.
“The intention was to sell a hand full of signs with proceeds to go to the victims and their families. As fast as we could print them we were selling them. In a very short period of time we raised over 280,000 dollars. It was very humbling knowing we had a very small part in the healing process but more than anything we’re just greatful that the community embraced it. We had a small part in coming up with the concept or the idea but had it not been for the community and their wanting to help in some way, shape or form, that’s what really drove the success of the campaign.”
“It shows a lot of character of the people around here, ” says Lafayette resident Myles Bunker. “You’re driving around everywhere and you see ‘Lafayette Strong,’ Lafayette Strong’…and when the community kind of came together it was uplifting for everyone.”
Merchandise is still available at Pixus and Louisiana Hot Stuff with all proceeds still benefitting the Grand 16 shooting victims and their families.
