JEFF DAVIS PARISH, La. (KLFY)- A 28-year-old Lake Arthur man is facing several charges after being arrested near an elementary school. 

On Saturday night, April 6, around 8:40 p.m. deputies patrolling observed two individuals walking near the Lake Arthur Elementary School. When the individuals spotted deputies they placed a small baggy in the trashcan on 5th Street and walked away, authorities said. 

Deputies stopped the two individuals and discovered one female was 15 years old and the other was a male, identified as 28-year-old Trent Reed Lisenby.

Lisenby had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court. Deputies located the item tossed in the trashcan and identified it as methamphetamine.

Lisenby was also charged with possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Lisenby was booked into the parish jail with no bond.
