United Way of Southwest Louisiana is accepting donations at the Lake Charles Civic Center, located at 900 N Lakeshore Dr., Lake Charles from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Fridays at 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Catholic Charities of Acadiana is looking for people for the following jobs to assist in disaster relief:

The Louisiana Policy Institution for Children is collecting donations to provide childcare providers with financial assistance to aid their recovery efforts in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Dollar General is accepting donations and will deliver them to impacted areas. All locations from New Iberia to Morgan City will accept donations of essential items like water, non-perishable foods, and clothing.

Ashley HomeStore in Lafayette (200 Westmark Blvd., Ambassador Caffery) is hosting a food and clothing collection drive for victims of Hurricane Ida through Friday, Sept. 10. The following items are requested:

  • Bottled water, electrolyte powder for drinks
  • Beef jerky
  • Men’s socks, underwear, and t-shirts
  • Deodorant
  • Insect repellant and sunscreen
  • Diapers, diaper rash ointment, and baby wipes

Drop off hours are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. each day. Supplies will be delivered to impacted areas on Saturday. For more information, contact Ashley HomeStore at 337-294-0030.

Gifting Grace Project is holding a donation drive to build student care kits, Sept. 1 – Oct. 29. They’re looking for the following items:

  • Personal hygiene products (shampoo, brushes, soap, toothbrush & toothpaste, deodorant, ladies products, baby diapers/wipes)
  • Cold night essentials (blankets, pillows, socks, jackets)
  • Non-perishable foods (granola bars, cereal, pop-tarts, canned foods, pasta/rice, etc.)
  • Kids toys
  • Gift cards (Walmart, Target, Dollar General, Walgreens, etc.)
  • Monetary donations can be made here.

Donation drop-offs are at Traditions Health Office, located at 217 Rue Louis XIV #100, Lafayette from Sept. 1 – Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Lift Acadiana is collecting items to distribute to Terrebonne, Lafourche, and South Lafourche Parishes. Donations drop-off times are Wednesday, Sept. 1 – Friday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. – noon at 210 S. Girouard Rd. A, Broussard, La.

Bullybox Passion Project will collect donations at a supply drive on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Java Square in Opelousas, located at 103 W. St. Landry St. For more information, email Thebullyboxpassionproject@gmail.com or call 337-308-8564.

Operation Give Back is collecting non-perishables, blankets, batteries, water, and cleaning supplies to distribute to Thibodaux and Metairie areas.

  • Friday, Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Reliapath at 1100 Andre St., New Iberia

Down the Bayou Nutrition and Energy is holding a supply drive through Monday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. Items can be dropped off at 1120 Eighth St., Morgan City, and will be distributed from Nan’s Nutrition at 6495 W. Park Ave, Houma.

The Covenant Love Truck from Covenant United Methodist Church needs donations and volunteers to deliver relief and supplies to impacted areas. The following items are requested:

  • Baby and adult diapers/wipes

  • Gatorade
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Non-perishable snacks

Donations are currently being accepted through Monday, Sept. 6, each day from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Covenant Church at 300 E. Martial Ave., Lafayette. Monetary donations are also accepted through Venmo to @Love-Truck.

St. Edmond’s Catholic Church will start collecting supplies on Thursday, Sept. 2 and will accept supplies through Friday, Sept. 10 from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day.

  • Cleaning supplies (bleach, soap, mops, brooms, cleaning towels, soaps, personal hygiene supplies)
  • Bottled water

The products will be distributed in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, our neighbors to the East. Monetary donations can be made with a check made to St Edmond Catholic Church with the notation Hurricane Relief. For more information visit their website.

LSE Crane and Transportation, in partnership with C&G Containers, is accepting donations at 313 Westgate Rd., Scott, La. They are also looking for volunteers to help receive donations and pack them for shipment. The following items are needed:

Nila’s Bourbon Hall is holding a supply/donation drive — “Drop for a shot,” drop off supplies and get a free shot.

Reve Coffee Roasters will donate a percentage of sales from the week of August 30 – Sept. 3 toward relief efforts. They are also designating both Coffee Lab locations in Lafayette as supply dropoff locations. Items needed include the following:

The Coffee Labs are located at 200-A Jefferson St., Lafayette, and 1042 Camellia Blvd #6, Lafayette. Donations are accepted during business hours at both locations until Sunday, Sept. 5.

Grub Burger Bar at 1905 Kaliste Saloom Rd., Lafayette is accepting donations to distribute to shelters and disaster relief sites in need. They ask for the following items:

United Way of Acadiana, Second Harvest Food Banks, and Catholic Charities of Acadiana are hosting a food/supply drive from Sept. 3-17 on Mondays-Friday (with the exception of Labor Day) from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Supplies can also be purchased on their Amazon Wishlist.

Democratic Socialists of Southwest Louisiana is accepting donations and coordinating supply runs in partnership with SWLA Do No Harm and Mutual Aid Disaster Relief. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

The Franklin Fire Department will have a donation drop-off site set up at 512 First St., Franklin from Sept. 3-5 at 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Cabot Corp. are accepting donations at the sheriff’s office, located at 415 W. Cotton St. in Ville Platte 24 hours a day until Thursday, Sept. 9. RE/MAX Acadiana is currently accepting donations for Hurricane Ida victims to help our neighbors in the Houma area. The drop-off location is at 114 Curran Ln off Ambassador Caffery (across from the Wal-mart). RE/MAX has partnered with the Houma Fire department, LIFE church in Houma and will be working directly with them to distribute the following items:

  • Baby formula and diapers
  • OTC medicines and 1st aid supplies

  • Tarps
  • Cleaning supplies

The Louisiana Bar Foundation (LBF) has established a Hurricane Ida Disaster Fund and we are seeking donations now to help local organizations doing on-the-ground response work to help families ASAP. “We have activated the hurricane disaster fund to aid our network of civil legal aid providers that work extraordinarily hard to meet emergency needs and protect our most vulnerable population,” said Christopher K. Ralston, the 2021-22 president of LBF.
