A Eunice firefighter received a special award Tuesday for his heroic efforts during their city council meeting.
The Louisiana State Firemen’s Association presented Conner Manuel with the Louisiana State Fireman’s association award of valor.
Last month, Manuel rescued 6 months pregnant Alfrelisha Thibeaux from her burning car on Interstate 10.
“I was just thinking of what the outcome would be if she couldn’t get out due to the heavy traffic and the serious outcome she wouldn’t make it through.”
Manuel will also be recognized at the annual Firefighter’s Conference in New Orleans later this year.
