(KLFY) Lt. Christopher Burleigh, an Acadiana native and longtime employee of the State Fire Marshal’s office, has died.

Burleigh died Friday following a lengthy illness, the State Fire Marshal’s Office announced on social media.

“Chris’ dedication to the SFM, and the public it serves, as well as his flair for life, will be greatly missed. Please join us in holding Chris and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

He was 45-years-old.
