LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- Lafayette Police are investigating a shooting in the 600 block of N. Washington Street.

According to Lafayette Police Department spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin, when police arrived to reports of shots fired they located the victim lying in the street suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.

The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Griffin said.

Griffin said the investigation is ongoing.

There is no suspect information.
