LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- A Lafayette Police officer was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at the food distribution site at the Cajundome Friday afternoon.

According to LPD Sgt. Wayne Griffin, the officer was struck at about 1:30 p.m. He suffered minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
