LPSO recovers $94,000 in stolen property from two businesses

Deputies were called to the to 100 block of Annonce Street early Monday morning in reference to multiple vehicle burglaries and stolen surveying equipment.

Deputies found evidence at the scene that identified a possible suspect who lives in Lafayette.
Investigators located the possible suspect and found a vehicle parked outside the
residence with the stolen items inside the vehicle.
Detectives were in the process of securing a search warrant when a second business burglary
was reported at the 300 block of Marcon Dr., located adjacent to the business on Annonce Street.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., detectives secured a search warrant through for the residence as well as the vehicle.


Stolen items recovered included a generator, Trimmel surveying equipment kits with multiple tripods, Spectra Precision Laser, a Stanley Level, telescopic ruler, Spectra Leveling Laser Meter, a hand held generator and a Magforce industrial trash pump.

The total value of the items recovered is approximately $94,420.00.
“I am very proud of the quick response by our deputies along with their ability to capitalize on the leads they developed during the investigation. Their diligent work lead to the quick recovery of valuable business property,” Sheriff Mark Garber said.
