Crowley Police have made an arrest in the theft of thousands of dollars of electronics from the Walmart Store at 729 Odd Fellows Road.
According to Police, 25 year old Robert Lee Williams of Galveston, Texas allegedly stole approximately $11,000.00 worth of electronic merchandise from the Walmart Supercenter on Sunday.
It happened around 4:52 a.m. when police say they received a call from Walmart workers who witnessed Williams getting into a vehicle with the stolen merchandise.
Officers arrived on scene, and began to chase with the suspects vehicle.
Police Chief Jimmy Brouusard said Williams crashed as he exited the interstate at the Duson exit.
He was arrested on scene, Broussard said.
After searching the vehicle, police say, they located the merchandise, in the back seat of the vehicle.
Williams was detained and transported to Crowley PD, where investigators were called out to assist.
Video evidence from the scene, along with clothing matches to the suspect, justified an arrest warrant upon Williams, police said.
32 year old Patrail D. Yell, of Lake Charles was detained but not arrested for the crime, police said. He was arrested on a Probation Violation out of Lake Charles.
A third female suspect has been identified by Crowley Police, but her name is being withheld at the present time, pending the issuance of the warrant.
