Cajun Heartland State Fair kicks off their 28th annual fair this Memorial Day weekend, the eleven day fair offers an exciting entertainment line-up that attracts over 175,000 people.

Family May Fest will hold their 2nd annual family may fest to honor and remember all the veterans who have served our country and currently serving. There will be a tribute ceremony for all veterans, live entertainment featuring Geno Dalafose & The French Rockin Boogie. The organization will also be presenting a service dog that has been trained to assist to a local veteran with PTSD.

The Bayou Church is holding a Memorial Day concert honoring veterans of the U.S. military. The concert will feature marches and patriotic selections performed by the Lafayette Concert Band and will feature vocalist Victoria Qualls-Atkins and Rusty Roden. The Church says the program will ample the opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.

A Memorial Day Ceremony will be held in New Iberia to celebrate and commemorate all of the fallen soldiers in the military. There will be a 21 gun salute, a flag ceremony, and patriotic music.

The Opelousas Community Choir will be having a Memorial Day concert.
