LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A mobile home that was damaged during the August flood was destroyed by a house fire this afternoon, according to Lafayette firefighters.

Fire officials say they received the call around 3:23 p.m. in the 100 block of Rougeau Road.

No one was home when the fire started. The mobile home is considered a total loss.

Firefighters say the homeowner was trying to have the home inspected for flood damage by a FEMA representative today.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
