LONGSTREET, La. (AP) – Fires are nearly burned out after a natural gas explosion overnight in north Louisiana.
News outlets report it started around midnight in Longstreet, near Logansport in DeSoto Parish.
Sheriff Jayson Richardson says fire crews were called to Enterprise Products after reports of an explosion early Thursday at an oil and gas site in the area. The natural gas company has closed the line off in both directions, and officials are letting the fire burn out.
The site is about 100 yards off the road and there are no homes nearby. No injuries were reported.
