(The Daily Advertiser) – Lafayette Parish Superintendent Donald Aguillard has made new appointments to the district’s central office.

Geri Kaye Victorian has been named the district’s library science specialist.

Meanwhile, Tonya Hebert and Pauline Duplantis have been named coordinators of counseling services and student placement.

Victorian has been the principal of Green T. Lindon Elementary since 2013. Prior to that, she was an acting assistant principal at Milton Elementary/Middle and Youngsville Middle.

Victorian spent several years working in St. Landry Parish. She was a teacher at South Street Elementary in Opelousas for eight years, a librarian at Opelousas Senior High for three years and an administrative intern at Port Barre High through the Louisiana Leaders Fellows Program.

Victorian also was an assistant principal at Opelousas Junior High for two years, and principal at Creswell Elementary in Opelousas for two years.

Victorian received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a master’s of education degree from LSU-Shreveport.

Hebert has served as a science teacher at Carencro High for 14 years and a counselor at Carencro High for five years. This year, she was named Lafayette Parish’s high school counselor of the year. She was the Carencro High Teacher of the Year in 2005 and a Lafayette Education Foundation Teacher Award nominee from 1998 to 2004.

Hebert received a bachelor’s degree in science education from Southern University and a master’s degree in counseling from UL.

Duplantis has been the district’s coordinator of student services for the past five years. Prior to that, she worked for 31 years for the Diocese of Lafayette as an English teacher, counselor and director of guidance. She also was a guidance counselor at Alice Boucher Elementary for two years and a guidance counselor at Lafayette High for two years.

Duplantis received a bachelor’s degree in education from UL and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from UL.
