New information is emerging in the mysterious poisoning death of a Baton Rouge man and a Breaux Bridge man.

Sources confirm to News 10 that Meshell Hale’s daughter and her daughter’s partner, may have had a role in the crime, but no arrest warrants have been issued for either woman.

Hale was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Tuesday on a count of second-degree murder in the death of Damien Skipper.

Her bond was set at $150,000.

She’s accused of poisoning her husband, Arthur Noflin of Baton Rouge in 2016, and a man she claimed was her husband, Damian Skipper of Breaux Bridge, in 2015.

No one has been arrested yet for Noflin’s death, but it is worth mentioning that Noflin was married to Hale and made her the sole beneficiary of a $750,000 life insurance policy eight months before he was found dead in his vehicle in 2016.

Hale has been arrested for allegedly killing Skipper, to get his $10,000 life insurance as well.

Skipper died in June 2015; his death was originally classified as a heart attack.

But after new leads from Noflin’s death, the coroner’s office exhumed Skipper’s body and performed an autopsy.

Tests revealed toxic levels of barium acetate in his system.

News 10 spoke to the East Baton Rouge District Attorney about the case, and he doesn’t think the $150,000 bond was sufficient for the charges.

He says the evidence could be sufficient to charge her with first-degree murder if she committed the murder of skipper to gain something of value.

More charges could be pending.
