A New Iberia man involved in a marijuana deal that led to a triple shooting in 2016 was convicted in the 16th judicial district court.

David Javon Arceneaux was found guilty of three counts of attempted manslaughter, one count of attempted armed robbery, and one count of distribution of marijuana. 

According to court documents, three people traveled from Pineville to buy marijuana.

During the sale, Arceneaux robbed one of the people and fired at the vehicle.

All three people were hit by gunfire.

Arceneaux faces up to forty-nine and a half years in prison, according to court documents.
