- The 32nd Annual KLFY FoodNet Food for Families Food Drive is underway until 8:00 p.m. Drop-off locations across Acadiana will be accepting non-perishable food and monetary donations to benefit those in need.
- The late President George H.W. Bush is lying in state at the Capitol this morning. The public will have a chance to pay respects all day.
- President Trump touted the new ceasefire in the White House’s trade war with China. The President described the agreement as a “big leap forward” but its parameters remain unclear.
- Stuller is looking for the LCG City-Parish Council to approve a tax exemption of roughly $98,000 over a 10 year period, according to Lafayette Parish Assessor Conrad Comeaux. The company is part of the Industrial Tax Exemption Program so they can apply and not other businesses, unless they are part of the manufacturing industry.
- Construction on the new Belle Place Elementary School is set to finish in April. All students and staff from Dodson Elementary will move to the new school come August, and that building will still be used for educational purposes.
- The Vermilion Parish School Board held a special meeting last night. This comes after the November 15 meeting was canceled because four board members did not show up.
- Attorney General Jeff Landry has joined 11 other state attorney generals in filing a lawsuit against Medical Informatics Engineering, Inc. – a web-based electronic health record company, due to a HIPAA-related data breach.
