  • All eyes are on the rising river levels especially for those who live near the lower lying areas of the Atchafalaya Basin. However, it’s still not the time to panic.
  • Louisiana is searching for private companies to manage the care of 1.5 million Medicaid patients, as the existing contracts expire at the end of this year. 
  • Speaker Taylor Barras has voted against a budget that includes a pay raise for teachers, something that hasn’t seen in 12 years. He told them he wants to see exactly where the money will go and how the Department of Education will appropriate those funds.
  • The Secretary of State presented the Lafayette Consolidated City-Parish Council with a number of options to fix the language in its charter 
  • amendment. He says what ever you decide to do, get it done by July 1st.
  • Waitr is holding a job fair today to hire 250 additional delivery drivers. It’s from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Opportunity Machine on Cajundome Boulevard.
  • A Town Hall meeting will be held tonight at the Comeax Recreation Center for concerns about the Verot School Road and Vincent Road intersection. It begins at 6:30 p.m.
