A gunman killed three people, including two hospital employees and a police officer, in an attack that began outside a Chicago Medical Center Monday afternoon. Police say the violence broke out during a domestic dispute between the gunman and a woman who worked at the hospital.

Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the death of local boxer Brandon Broussard. One was arrested in New Iberia, the other out of state.

The Sheriff of St. Landry Parish is encouraging residents in the parish to become a part of the neighborhood watch program on a regular basis. He sends out emails informing them of reporting criminal activity in their neighborhood.

A local economics professor says there are pros and cons of taxes passing on the ballot. The pros are the government has more revenue and the cons are that in the long term you could slow economic growth.

Four Gulf states are getting BP Oil Spill Restoration Grants totalling $280 million. Says Louisiana will receive $161 million.

An audit found spending oversight issues in Louisiana’s Tourism Department. The Legislative Auditor’s Office says spending isn’t properly tracked, payroll policies aren’t followed, and park fees haven’t been appropriately collected.

The days leading up to Thanksgiving are some of the busiest driving travel days of the year. The department of transportation says construction on on I-10 and US 90 will be stop on Wednesday and will resume Monday morning, to avoid causing extra traffic during holiday travel.
