- Breaking overnight, fire officials are on the scene of a structure fire in the Cade-Broussard area. According to the Broussard Fire Department, they were called to assist in a structure fire near the intersection of highway 1-82 and Duchamp road early this morning.
- Youngsville police have made an arrest in Wednesday morning’s murder. According to neighbors the man charged with second degree murder is the victims brother. The VICTIM has been identified as a 35 year old white female.
- A serial killer confessed to murdering 24 year old Melissa Thomas of Opelosas 22 years ago. 78 year old Samuel Little of California who confessed is currently serving life for other crimes.
- Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says his office has seen gang violence in Acadia Parish for years. He says drug-related issues have also been increasing, adding the two go hand in hand.
- Three people have been displaced, after a fire damaged their townhomes Tuesday night. Fire Fighters were called to extinguish the fire after occupants could not do so. No injuries were reported.
- 45-hundred properties in Lafayette Parish are now in flood zones after the new maps were released by FEMA. The deadline to purchase flood insurance, if you are in a flood zone, is December 21 st.
