- There were two other house fires in Acadiana over the past 24 hours. A home was destroyed by an early morning fire in Broussard. No one was home at the time. No injuries were reported.

- A criminal investigation is underway after racial slurs were written on the walls of UL Lafayette. One day after the discovery of the derogatory terms, messages of love appeared on the sidewalks surrounding the defaced building.
- There’s an emergency scam also known as the “grandparent scam” that targets well-meaning senior citizens who think they are helping a grandchild in distress. Typically, the grandparent receives a frantic phone call from someone they are led to believe is their grandchild asking for financial help.
- The Vermilion Parish School Board meeting was canceled for the second time this week as 4 board members did not show up. The superintendent says it was an embarrassment to the parish, while the board members’ attorney, said they all had a previous commitment.
