- Hundreds wrapped around the Best Buy on Johnston street to try and get the latest deals on electronics Thanksgiving night. Most people told us they were there for the tv’s.
- A shooting at an Alabama mall left an 18 year old and a twelve year old injured. Police shot and killed the gunman before he was able to flee.
- A Lafayette man was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide after his vehicle struck and killed a 13 year old boy walking in Lake Charles Thursday. Impairment was determined to be a factor in the crash.
- Baileys Restaurant in Lafayette hosted their 26th annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. Diners filled the restaurant to get a complimentary thanksgiving meal.
- For it’s fifth year, the non profit “love of people” and Rotary of Lafayette joined forces Thursday to feed those in need. The Rotary Club made a two thousand dollar donation.
- The Opelousas Life Church and the city of Opelousas hosted its “feed the city 2018” program at the Opelousas Civic Center. Along with free food, there were also games and entertainment for those in attendance.
- Lafayette High School’s Mighty Lion marching band took part in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
- 21-degree temperatures at the start of the day made it one of the coldest thanksgivings in New York City in decades.
