IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY)– A warrant sweep leads to the arrest of seven wanted on probation and parole violations.
Authorities with the New Iberia District Probations and Parole Office tell KLFY that seven were arrested in a warrant sweep of May 17, 2016.
NID officers, along with the Franklin PD, Chitimacha Tribal Police, the Morgan City PD, the Jeanerette PD, and the U.S. Marshal’s Office, searched for 26 individuals wanted for either felony probation violation or felony parole violation.
Of the original 26 wanted, News 10 is told seven were arrested.
During the warrant sweep, officers arrested two other individuals who were not part of the original operation but had warrants out for their arrest.
Lynwood Darby, a convicted sex offender from Franklin, La., was taken into custody according to authorities for probation violation, failure to register as a sex offender and failure to obtain a special identification card. Darby was on supervision for indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Also arrested was Jeremy Livings of Franklin, La., according to authorities, Livings was wanted by the Franklin Police for domestic abuse battery.
