Inmates at a detention center were evacuated as deputies extinguished a fire outside of a dorm.  

The fire happened around 8 pm Saturday night. 

The Alexandria Fire Department says there were no injuries.  

Although the fire is under investigation sources say they believe it was an inmate is who started the fire.  

Sheriff William Earl Hilton said, “A fire in a correctional facility is always a concern but I am glad to say the measures we have in place worked and thankfully, no one was injured”
