ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)–  Effective immediately, there will be a No Wake Zone for Bayou Teche in St. Martin Parish, authorities said.

According to a news release, the water level is high and boaters traveling at a high rate of speed have the potential to throw additional water into yards and homes along the Bayou.

 The no wake zone will be strictly enforced and violators will be cited.
