OPELOUSAS, La (KLFY) – In St. Landry Parish, if you’re a flood victim and still in need of items on the road to recovery we may have just the place for you.
The Opelousas City Marshal’s Office in partnership with Mt. Olive Baptist Church just opened the doors to a store for flood victims and everything is completely FREE.
Opelousas City Marshal, Paul Mouton, says the ‘Fresh Start Program’ was a vision of his after talking it over with his pastor.
The store has everything from furniture, clothes, shoes, and household appliances.
“The marshal’s office and Mt. Olive Baptist Church want to do something good for the people in the community that lost everything or just getting a fresh start. We’re trying to help them,” said Mouton.
The store, located at 1612 N. Main St., will be open everyday and will get a new load of items in each week.
