OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) – An Opelousas man is accused of second-degree rape in St. Landry Parish, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies received a report of sexual abuse in the Opelousas area on June 15, 2016.
Major Eddie Thibodeaux said Christopher Ryan Jacob, 21, was arrested after “Jacob corroborated the victim’s statement on the assault.”
Jacob also told investigators that he knew the victim and “used a necktie to bind her hands then assaulted her,” according to Thibodeaux.
Investigators say an additional witness placed the victim and suspect together at the time of the alleged assault.
Jacob is currently being held in the St. Landry Parish jail without bond.
