An Opelousas man is in jail for allegedly kidnapping a woman and attempting to strangle her.

This incident occurred at the intersection of Park Avenue & Fern Street involving a man why identified as Marcus Walker on June 1.

  The victim said she had been battered by the suspect who then took control of her car while she was inside the vehicle that day.

After the complaint was filed and the investigators follow up investigation was complete, warrants for the arrest of Mr. Walker was obtained.

Mr. Walker was by police today and was booked and processed on the following charges: simple kidnapping, domestic abuse battery by strangulation and aggravated criminal damage to property.
