A 21-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly waving a gun in a neighborhood and acting irate. Jacoby Wiggins of Opelousas now faces several charges, including Aggravated Assault with a Firearm,  Possession of Schedule III drugs,  Possession or dealing in firearms with obliterated serial numbers,  Resisting an Officer,  Possession of Schedule IV drugs,  Illegal Possession of a firearm in presence of a juvenile.  Opelousas Police say they were dispatched to the 400 block of Raymond Street around 2 pm, and located the suspect, but not before he fled on foot.  Opelousas police, with assistance from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s department, were able to set up a perimeter, and apprehend the suspect on Vidrine St., just a few blocks from where the incident occurred. Drugs were located on Mr. Wiggins person, and a .22 caliber handgun ( with serial number removed )  was also recovered from behind a residence on Rose Ann Street. Wiggins is being held at the Opelousas City Jail.  Police say no shots were fired.
