OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- Police said multiple 911 calls followed by hang-ups led to the arrest of an Opelousas man on forcible rape, sexual battery and false imprisonment charges.

Officer responded to the 800 block of West South Street on Thursday where they searched an unoccupied home. They later located the victim elsewhere who said she has been trying to call police without the suspect knowing.

She said the suspect made her leave the resident where she was calling 911 and sexually assaulted her, police said.

Vedall Ledet, of Opelousas, has been placed under arrest.
