Authorities say a 34 yo Opelousas man drowned in a tubing accident at the Upper Amite in the Watson area of Livingston Parish.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard says the man, identified as Ketni Thomas, swam upstream to assist a younger tuber in distress when he became exhausted and went under water.
According to Ard, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just after 3 p.m.
No additional information was released. An investigation is on going.
