Local musicians singer Bobby Page and songwriter V.J. Boulet were attending Rayne High School when their band Bobby Page and the Riff-Raffs first recorded their song, ‘I love my baby.’
They tell us, all those years ago, they never imagined the song would end up on the big screens.
Now, 50 years later, and their song is featured in the award-winning movie, Green Book.
The musicians tell News 10 they’re filled with joy and a lot of it comes from the support they’ve received from their community. “It’s an incredible feeling,” said Boulet.
They say that in their many years in music, nothing compares to this experience.
“There might be better things coming, who knows, but right now, this is the highlight,” said Boulet. “We might be shut down tomorrow, but we’re riding high today, baby!” added Page.
Boulet and Page say this has not just been about seeing their names on the big screen, they hope to honor those who have helped them along the way, especially one of the members of the original band who recently died.
