Representatives from more than 30 local businesses visited Paul Breaux Middle School Thursday to talk with students about potential careers.
The event was a way for Paul Breaux to implement its Leader in Me and Gear Up programs, said Assistant Principal Lisa Semere.
The school’s Tiger Buddies were in charge of running the fair for students in sixth through eighth grades.
“They served as ambassadors, hosts and hostesses and were in charge of hospitality,” Semere said. “We are very proud of them. We are very thankful for the support from the community, college and business leaders who came to share their careers with the Paul Breaux Middle School students.
Representatives from several sectors were on hand to meet with students, including health care, environmental services, engineering, technology, photography, architecture, finance, public services, law, cosmetology, food and the military. In addition, representatives from several Louisiana colleges and universities discussed college programs and preparation with students.
