ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) – Police have confirmed to KLFY that a child has died following injuries sustained during a MLK Day parade in Abbeville this morning.

Lt. David Hardy said a child was struck by a float sometime after the parade started at 11:30 a.m.

He said the child passed away earlier this afternoon. Police have not released the child’s age or identity.
