Police respond to welfare check of stranded motorist, arrest Abbeville woman with drugs, warrants

Grant Parish Sheriff’s Deputies say they were dispatched to what appeared to be a stranded motorist who then identified herself as Jamie Colley.

According to deputies, “Colley” did not have a driver’s license and no identification, and a computer search of her name did not match.

Deputies say the driver then admitted that she lied and that her actual name was Bonnie Colley from Abbeville, La. and that she had outstanding warrants for her arrest.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies say they discovered marijuana and diazepam.

Colley was transported to the Grant Parish detention center and once at the detention center, a deputy discovered a hole in the lining of her jacket with crystal methamphetamine hidden.

Colley, 31 years old,  was booked with possession of C.D.S. II (crystal methamphetamine), possession of C.D.S. I (marijuana), possession of diazepam, resisting an officer by providing a false name (2 counts), introduction of contraband into a penal institution, and 2 outstanding warrants.
