This year LAGCOE celebrates its 60th anniversary. The 2015 expo is set to attract over 17,000 attendees.

People travel to Lafayette from 43 states and a number of foreign countries. LAGCOE Chairman Steve Maley says although the oil industry isn’t at it’s best right now, there is a silver lining.

With many oil companies in turmoil, some of them are not attending this year’s conference. That provides a unique opportunity for other exhibitors who’ve spent years on the show’s waiting list.

In fact, Maley said they’ll have about 100 new vendors. “As an organization it’s all about promoting oil and gas industry to Lafayette and Lafayette to the oil and gas industry,” Maley told KLFY’s Kellie Brown.

Joshua Dubois will be representing Lafayette based company Specialty Equipment Sales. He said his company did not hesitate to attend, “We been coming here since day one our company is 40 years old. Meet new customers and see existing customers.”

One of the highlights of LAGCOE 2015 is the career fair which is on Thursday, the show’s last day.

There Maley says oil workers can get priceless guidance from professionals in the field, “Anyone who is currently a worker in the industry, wants to be a worker in the industry or perhaps displaced workers can go there and find help with resume writing skills, head shots and how to build an online presence on LinkedIn.”

Registration will be open all week long for anyone who wants to attend.
