A mix of clouds and sun anticipated for today with highs getting into the upper 70s. South winds tick up once again this afternoon, in the 10-15 mph range later today. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out, but rain chance only about 10 percent through the day.
Heading through tomorrow, a front will begin to nose into the area. Storms will most likely be ongoing across northern parts of the state early tomorrow morning. Some high resolution models have this wave of rain, and a few embedded thunderstorms, coming in during early afternoon, with the possibility of a secondary wave developing along the main front later in the evening. Depending on the timing of the rain, temperatures could reach the upper 70s before the rain moves in early tomorrow afternoon. Overall, rain coverage should be around 40-50 percent.
Drier air will begin to work into the area early Tuesday. Expect a nice day on Tuesday with sunny skies and a north breeze. Highs will favor the lower 70s versus the upper 70s. By Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, temperatures could plunge into the upper 40s.
Another warming trend is expected Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Next wave of rain is expected by next weekend.
