Band students at Rayne High School have received a much-needed donation from the Tipitina’s foundation.

The band was awarded $60,000 worth of instruments from the foundation’s “Instruments-a-Comin'” award. The Tipitina’s Foundation uses the “Instruments-a-Comin'” program to increase youth participation in music programs by providing new and refurbished instruments to area school bands. Band Director Adrian Alba says now students will not only be able to learn, but also practice on a large range of instruments making them more prepared than ever for the next step.

Rayne High School’s band has 75 members and this is the first band in the Lafayette region to receive the generous award.
