Edward Dontreal Nickson, 23, III of Rayne turned himself in to authorities minutes ago, Rayne Police Chief Carrol said.
Nickson is charged with one count of attempted second degree murder.
On Friday, police were called to the 600 block of Holt Avenue following multiple calls about shorts fired in the area.
An unidentified victim was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Stelly says the victim was transported by Air Med to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
