Two people are dead and dozens more were injured in a crash on I-10 that involved a charter bus full of volunteers on their way to help with flood relief.
According to Louisiana State Police, two people have died in a fatal crash on I-10 Westbound in Laplace.
One of those killed in today’s horrific crash has been identified St. John Fire Dist Chief Spencer Chauvin.
Firefighters were responding to a crash on I-10 Westbound near Belle Terre Boulevard when another vehicle crashed into the scene of that accident.
Two firefighters on the scene of the initial accident were injured in the second crash. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Details are scarce right now, but State Police said one of the vehicles involved in the second accident was a charter bus full of volunteers headed to help with Louisiana flood relief.
Acadian Ambulance is aslo reporting that two people have died and over 40 were transported to nearby hospitals.
