The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is warning they are the latest target of a phishing scam.
Phishing is an attempt to fraudulently obtain personal information.
If you have received an email asking for money on behalf of the Council, it is fraudulent and should be deleted immediately.
The Gulf Council is not asking for donations. They are working to trace the origins of this fraudulent email.
