Sheriff Mark Garber today issued the following statement regarding the death of Lafayette Parish Sheriff Deputy William Lattimore:

“Sheriff Garber sends his condolences to the Lattimore family and thanks him for his military service to this country along with his service as a Sheriff’s Deputy to this community.” 

Lattimore, a 25 year veteran, died Saturday February 3, 2018 at his residence in Lafayette.

He was a native of Alabama and a resident of Lafayette for 30 years.

He was a past president of “The Blue Knights Motorcycle Club” and an avid NASCAR racing fan who also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army, he courageously served his country in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret/Special Forces.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro.
